Who doesn’t love a fun twist on a color theory lesson? Instead of the traditional wheel, this lesson challenges students to divide their papers into geometric shapes. You can easily pull in a cross-curricular lesson with math here! In addition, this lesson will give students the experience of mixing tints and shades.
For most students, having three sections per color works well: one section for the color itself, one for a tint, and one for a shade. However, if students need a challenge, you can up that to 5 sections per color, requiring two tints and two shades. If you want to get even more complex, throw in the intermediate colors!
